1. Apply high temp anti-seize to the threads of the sensor, but do not allow any to get on the sensor probe.
2. Install the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) outlet temperature sensor (2) to the 1-BOX™. Torque to 35
38 N·m (26-28 lb·ft)
3. Connect the SCR outlet temperature sensor electrical harness connector and install into the mounting
bracket.
4. Install the upper Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM) cover (1) and torque the bolts (4) to 10 N·m (7 lbft)
5. Connect the DEF pressure line (1) and the DEF return line (2) to the DEF dosing unit.
6. Install the SCR Outlet Temperature sensor wiring harness mounting zip ties.
7. Connect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
8. If removed, install the passenger side fairing. Refer to OEM procedures.
Removal of the Soot Sensor
1. Shut off engine and apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps.
2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
3. If necessary, remove the passenger side fairing. Refer to OEM procedures.
4. Remove the lower Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM) cover mounting bolts (2) and remove the cover
(3).
5. Disconnect the Soot Sensor Control Unit (SCU) electrical connector (4).
6. Remove both Soot SCU mounting bolts (2) and remove the SCU (1).
7. Note the location of the zip ties securing the Soot sensor wiring harness before removing for proper
installation.
8. Remove the Soot sensor wiring harness mounting zip ties.
9. Use the Soot sensor socket and remove the soot sensor (3) from the 1-BOX™.
Installation of the Soot Sensor
1. Apply anti-seize to the threads of the soot sensor.
2. Install the soot sensor (3). Use the soot sensor socket and torque the soot sensor to 50 N·m (37 lb·ft).
3. Install the soot Sensor Control Unit (SCU) (1) and torque the mounting bolts (2) to 12 N·m (9 lb·ft).
4. Connect the soot SCU electrical connector (4).
5. Install the lower Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM) cover (3) and torque the mounting bolts (2) to 10
N·m (7 lb·ft).
6. Install the Soot sensor wiring harness mounting zip ties.
7. Connect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
8. If removed, install the passenger side fairing. Refer to OEM procedures.
