1. Shut off engine and apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps

To avoid injury from electrical shock, use care when connecting battery cables. The magnetic switch
studs are at battery voltage.
2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures.
3. Allow the Aftertreatment System (ATS) time to cool.
Note : If replacing the SCR Catalyst, remove the DEF Dosing Unit and SCR inlet temperature sensor.
4. Remove Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR Catalyst) from the stanchion.

Installation of the 2-BOX (2V2) Selective Catalytic Reduction
(SCR) Catalyst

1. Install the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Catalyst onto the stanchion. Refer to section “Installation of the 2
BOX (2V2) Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Catalyst Onto the Stanchion” .
Note : If the SCR is being replaced, Go to step 2. If not, Go to step 6.
2. Install a new DEF Dosing Unit gasket with the gasket legs facing outward.
3. Install the DEF Dosing Unit using three new mounting bolts. Torque to 10 N·m (7 lb·ft).
4. Apply high temperature anti-seize to the threads of the SCR Inlet temperature sensor, but do not allow any
to get on the sensor probe.
Note : DO NOT use excessive amounts; anti-seize will squeeze out during installation. DO NOT over tighten
sensors; damage to threads may occur.
5. Install the SCR inlet temperature sensor (1). Torque to 35 to 38 N·m (26 to 28 lb·ft).

6. Connect the batteries. Refer to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures.
7. Start the engine and check for leaks

Box (2V2) Removal and Installation from the Vehicle

1. Shut off engine and apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps.

To avoid injury from electrical shock, use care when connecting battery cables. The magnetic switch
studs are at battery voltage.
2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures.
3. Allow the Aftertreatment System (ATS) time to cool.
4. Remove the heat shields (2).
5. Remove the exhaust stack (6) from the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalyst.
6. Disconnect the 47-pin connector (3) at the sensor box.
7. Disconnect the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pressure (5) and DEF return (4) lines from the DEF dosing unit.
8. Loosen the lower fasteners (8) on the diagonal support brace.
9. Remove the upper fasteners (7) on the diagonal support brace. Disconnect the diagonal support brace from
the lifting bracket that attaches to the vertical stanchion and swing it out of the way. Secure as needed.
10. Remove the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) inlet exhaust clamp (1) from the Aftertreatment Device (ATD).
Support the turbo outlet pipe as needed so there is no stress on the bellows.
11. Position the overhead lifting device over the vertical stanchion and connect the hooks at the lifting points.
Apply enough pressure to the lift points to prevent the unit from dropping when loosened.
12. Remove the mounting fasteners (9) that attach the vertical stanchion to the frame rail.
13. Lift the ATS away from the vehicle.

Installation of the 2-Box (2V2) to the Vehicle

Note : BODILY INJURY
1. Using the overhead lifting device, position the unit at the frame rail, and install the mounting fasteners (9).
Torque to 211 N·m (155 lb·ft).
2. Position the diagonal support brace and install the upper mounting fasteners (7). Torque the upper and
lower fasteners (8) to 66 to 86 N·m (49 to 63 lb·ft).
3. Disconnect the overhead lifting device.
4. Connect the 47-pin connector (3) to the sensor box.
5. Connect the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pressure (5) and DEF return (4) lines to the DEF dosing unit.
6. Using a new seal (3), connect the exhaust inlet pipe (1) to the Aftertreatment Device (ATD) (4). Torque the
clamp (2) to 13 to 15 N·m (10 to 11 lb·ft).
7. Install the exhaust stack. Tighten the clamp to 37 to 50 N·m (27 to 37 lb·ft).
8. Install the heat shields. Tighten bolts to 18 to 22 N·m (13 to 16 lb·ft).

9. Connect the batteries. Refer to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures.
10. Start the engine and check for leaks.
