Resetting the Diesel Particulate Filter Ash Accumulators

This service routine synchronizes the ash volume between the Common Powertrain Controller (CPC) and the
Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM) and resets the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)/Diesel Particulate Filter
(DPF) temperature accumulators.
When installing a cleaned or remanufactured filter, Go to step 1.
When installing a new filter due to failure, Go to step 1.
When replacing an ACM (DiagnosticLink® Professional only), Go to step 8.
To carry out a DPF ash accumulator synchronization:

2. Select the appropriate radio button option from “Why does the ash volume ratio need changing?”
2.a If you choose “cleaned or remanufactured filter installation” or “New filter installation due to failure,” Go
to step 3.
2.b If you choose “ACM replacement,” Go to step 8.

3. Enter the new or remanufactured DPF unit serial number(s) that is currently installed on the vehicle.
3.a If the aftertreatment system is a 1-BOX™ system, there are two DPF units.
