Removal of the Hydrocarbon Doser Coolant Lines – DD13 and
DD15AT
1. Shut off the engine, apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps.
2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures.
3. Open the hood.
4. If necessary, remove the front bumper. Refer to the OEM procedure.
5. If necessary, remove the splash shield. Refer to the OEM procedure.
6. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to section “Cooling System Drain Procedure”.
7. Remove the air filter housing assembly.
8. Disconnect the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) header coolant line at the water manifold. Refer to the OEM
procedure.
9. Remove and save the bolts (1) attaching the p-clips holding the coolant supply and return lines to the
cylinder block.
Note : When removing the Hydrocarbon (HC) doser coolant lines, hold the water manifold HC doser coolant line
fitting with a separate wrench.
10. Remove the HC doser coolant inlet line from the HC fuel doser housing and the water manifold. Discard
seal rings.
11. Remove the HC doser coolant outlet line from the HC fuel doser housing and the water manifold. Discard
seal rings.
Installation of the Hydrocarbon Doser Coolant Lines – DD13 and
DD15AT
Note : When installing the Hydrocarbon (HC) doser coolant lines, hold the water manifold HC doser coolant line
fitting with a separate wrench.
1. Install the HC doser coolant inlet and outlet lines to the water manifold assembly.
2. Torque the HC doser coolant inlet and outlet lines at the water manifold assembly.
• For the 5mm long thread fitting, torque to 15 N·m (11 lb·ft)
• For the 15mm long thread fitting, torque to 22 N·m (16 lb·ft)
3. With new seal rings, install the inlet and outlet coolant lines to the Hydrocarbon (HC) doser housing. Torque
to 15 N·m (11 lb·ft).
4. Install the bolts (1) attaching the p-clips holding the coolant supply and return lines to the cylinder block.
5. Torque the top two p-clip bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb·ft).
6. Torque the lower p-clip bolt closest to the HC fuel doser housing to 60 N·m (44 lb·ft).
7. Connect the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) header coolant line at the water manifold. Refer to the Original
Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedure.
8. Install the air filter. Refer to OEM procedures.
9. If removed, install the splash shield. Refer to the OEM procedure.
10. If removed, install the front bumper. Refer to the OEM procedure.
