Removal of the Hydrocarbon Doser Block Feed Line

1. Shut off engine and apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps.
2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
3. Remove the Hydrocarbon (HC) doser block feed line from the HC doser block.
4. Remove the HC doser block feed line from the high-pressure fuel flange.

Installation of the Hydrocarbon Doser Block Feed Line

1. Loosely install Hydrocarbon (HC) doser block feed line to HC doser block and high-pressure fuel flange.
2. Torque banjo bolt to 25 to 35 N·m (17 to 18 lb·ft).
Note : Hold the banjo bolt while torquing.
3. Torque the fuel line to the high-pressure fuel flange to 23 to 25 N·m (17 to 18 lb·ft).
4. Connect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
5. Check for any leaks

Removal of the Hydrocarbon Fuel Doser Housing

Remove as follows:
1. Shut off engine and apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps.

2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to section “Cooling System Drain Procedure” .
4. Remove the protection cover (1) and bolts (2) and nuts for the Hydrocarbon (HC) fuel doser housing (if
equipped).
5. Disconnect the HC fuel doser supply line (1) from the HC fuel doser injector valve. Hold the HC fuel doser
injector valve with a wrench when loosening the line fitting.
6. Disconnect the coolant inlet and coolant outlet lines (1) from the HC fuel doser housing.
7. Loosen two bolts (1) and remove the HC fuel doser housing (with doser injector attached – 3) from the
exhaust pipe (4). The auxiliary bracket (2) that held the protection cover will come off at this point also.

Installation of the Hydrocarbon Fuel Doser Housing

Install as follows:
NOTICE
Do not use a hard bristle brush as it could damage the seat.
1. Clean the Hydrocarbon (HC) fuel doser housing seat and hole to remove any carbon build-up with a
suitable brush, taking care not to damage the seat.
2. Install the HC fuel doser housing with the fuel injector attached using a new gasket.
3. Install the two bolts (1) securing the HC fuel doser housing (3) and auxiliary bracket (2) that holds the
protection cover (if equipped) into the exhaust pipe (4). Torque the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb·ft).
4. Install inlet and outlet coolant lines, with new sealing rings, to the HC fuel doser housing. Torque to 15 N·m
(11 lb·ft).
5. Connect the HC fuel doser supply line (1) to the HC fuel doser injector valve. Hold the HC fuel doser
injector valve with a wrench when tightening the line fitting. Torque supply line fitting to 18 N·m (13 lb·ft).
6. Install the protection cover (1) and tighten the bolts (2) and nuts securing it to the auxiliary bracket, (if
equipped).
7. Fill the cooling system.

8. Connect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.

9. Start the engine.
Note : It may take more than one purge attempt to completely purge all of the air from the fuel line. Do not exceed
three purge attempts.
10. Use the HC Doser command to run the purge function in DiagnosticLink® to purge all the air from the HC
fuel doser valve and line.
11. Check for any leaks.
12. Shut off the engine.
