1. Shut off the engine, apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps.

2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
3. If necessary, remove the passenger side fairing. Refer to OEM procedures.
4. Disconnect the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) inlet NOx sensor Electronic Control Unit (ECU)
electrical connector (1).

5. Remove the two bolts (2) that secure the ECU to the mounting bracket and remove the ECU (4).
6. To help ensure proper installation, note the location of the zip ties securing the SCR inlet NOx sensor
wiring harness to the 1-BOX™.
7. Remove the SCR inlet NOx sensor wiring harness mounting zip ties.

Note : Do NOT cut the wires to remove the NOx sensor; use a slotted NOx sensor socket.

8. Use a slotted NOx sensor socket and remove the inlet NOx sensor (3) from the 1-BOX.

Installation of the Selective Catalytic Reduction Inlet NOx
Sensor

NOTICE
When re-using a NOx sensor, apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the
threads. Excessive amounts of anti-seize will squeeze out when torquing, possibly
contaminating the sensor. New sensors already have a small amount of anti-seize
compound on their threads.

1. Apply anti-seize to the threads of the NOx sensor

2. Install the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Inlet NOx sensor (3) to the 1-BOX™. Use the slotted NOx
sensor socket and torque the NOx sensor to 50 N·m (37 lb·ft).

3. Install the two SCR Electronic Control Unit (ECU) mounting bolts (2) fastening the ECU (4) to mounting
bracket. Torque the bolts to 12 N·m (9 lb·ft).
4. Connect the SCR Inlet NOx sensor ECU electrical connector (1).
5. Install zip ties securing the SCR Inlet NOx sensor wire harness to the 1-BOX™.

6. Connect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
7. If removed, install the passenger side fairing. Refer to OEM procedures.

Removal of the Selective Catalytic Reduction Outlet NOx
Sensor

1. Shut off engine and apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety
steps

To avoid injury from electrical shock, use care when connecting battery cables. The magnetic switch
studs are at battery voltage.
2. Disconnect the batteries. Refer to OEM procedures.
3. If necessary, remove the passenger side fairing. Refer to OEM procedures.
4. Disconnect the DEF pressure line (1) and the DEF return line (2) from the DEF dosing unit.

5. Remove the mounting bolts (5) and the upper Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM) cover (6)

6. Disconnect the SCR Outlet NOx sensor Electronic Control Unit (ECU) electrical connector (3).
7. Remove the SCR Outlet NOx sensor ECU mounting bolts (2) and spacers (4).
8. Remove the SCR Outlet NOx sensor ECU (7).
9. To ensure proper installation, note the location of the zip ties securing the SCR Outlet NOx sensor wiring
harness to the 1-BOX™.
10. Remove the SCR Outlet NOx sensor wiring harness mounting zip ties.
11. Use the slotted NOx sensor socket and remove the SCR Outlet NOx sensor (1) from the 1-BOX.
